Today children took part in a scientific enquiry: Does the volume and pitch affect how well rice “dances”?
This followed on from last week’s learning where we discovered that sound caused by vibrations and air particles vibrating could make rice dance.
Today we had a selection of high and Low pitched instruments and played them from the same distance both loudly and quietly. We measured the decibels to support us with this. We then observed how well the rice danced.
