What an exciting week we have had in the LEAF, putting our five senses to work as we explored our outdoor environment—looking, touching, listening, smelling, and even tasting.
We were so excited to find some blackberries! We carefully collected a basket full of berries and carried them back to the classroom to see how we could turn our harvest into something special.
Back in class, our little chefs got straight to work making homemade blackberry jam. There was so much joy and concentration as everyone took turns chopping, squashing, and stirring the berries, watching the texture and colour change.
To finish off a fantastic week, we invited some special guests to join us—our favourite teddies from home! We spread our fresh homemade jam onto bread and enjoyed a wonderful Teddy Bears’ Picnic together.
