Year 6 had a brilliant PSHE workshop with Andy from Hope UK this week.
We took a deep dive into the world of substances, learning that not all “drugs” are the same. We categorized everyday legal items like paracetamol (for pain), ibuprofen (for inflammation), and even the caffeine in our soft drinks, while discussing why other substances are strictly against the law.
The session became a hands-on experience when we used props to identify different risks and consequences. We also joined the dots between our Crucial Crew trip and the dangers of County Lines, talking about how to spot grooming and stay safe as we get older. It was a brilliant, eye-opening afternoon that definitely gave us a lot to think about!
