🦠 Y6 Mould Investigation Complete! πŸžπŸ”¬

Year 6 have now completed their mould investigation after observing our wet and dry pieces of bread over a week and a half!

The children made their predictions at the beginning of the investigation, and most of our predictions were correct – it was the wet bread that developed mould the quickest! πŸ‘€

Through our observations, we learnt that mould spores need moisture to grow, which helped us understand why keeping things dry can help to prevent mould from developing.

We linked our investigation to our wider learning about microbes and how we can use our scientific knowledge in everyday life. The children carefully observed the changes to the bread over time and enjoyed seeing the results of their experiment for themselves.

A fantastic, hands-on investigation and another great piece of scientific learning from Y6! πŸ§ͺ🦠🍞
