Holocaust Memorial Day in Y6

On January 27th, Year 6 commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day with a thoughtful and reflective afternoon of learning. We explored the restrictions placed on Jewish people during the Holocaust, developing our empathy skills by imagining how it would feel to have our rights taken away.

We also learnt about Anne Frank, whose inspiring story of resilience and hope left a deep impact on us. As part of our commemoration, we created our own memorial candle flames that we have added to a large collaborative art piece. Each flame symbolises remembrance and a commitment to standing against discrimination.

The day was an important reminder of kindness, tolerance and remembering the past to build a better future.
