Handmade hand cream in Hair and Beauty club

This week  our Hair and Beauty Club turned into a mini-apothecary! The children had a fantastic time learning how to create their very own nourishing hand cream from scratch.

🌿 Step 1: Harvesting Local Ingredients

We are incredibly lucky to have a wonderful variety of plants growing here on our school grounds. The session began with the children exploring the garden to harvest fresh lavender, mint, and lemon balm.

🥣 Step 2: Grinding and Blending

Back in the classroom, the children got to work grinding down the fresh herbs to release their natural oils and soothing scents. Next came the science and art of mixing! They carefully blended the herbs with:
Refined shea butter (for deep moisture)
Castor oil (for a smooth texture)
A few drops of complementary essential oils

🧴 Step 3: The Finished Product
Once the mixture was perfectly smooth, everyone packaged their custom creations into their very own personalised pots to take home.
By the end of the club, the room smelled absolutely incredible, and everyone left with lovely, soft hands.
