The children enjoyed a creative and engaging afternoon where they used colourful pasta and natural materials collected from outside to create their own seabeds. They explored a variety of brightly coloured pasta shapes and carefully selected pieces to represent coral reefs beneath the ocean. The children discussed how coral provides shelter and protection for many sea creatures and used their imagination to design habitats where marine animals could live and thrive.

To enhance their underwater scenes, the children gathered sticks, leaves, and other natural resources from the outdoor environment. They used these materials to represent seaweed, marine plants, and other features commonly found on the seabed. As they worked, the children developed their fine motor skills by placing and arranging the different materials with care and precision. They also used descriptive language to talk about their creations, sharing ideas and explaining their choices with their peers.

It was lovely to get out into the sunshine and be creative!
