Our children from Year 1 to Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic British Values Poetry Day, taking part in a series of engaging workshops focused on exploring the values that help our school community thrive.
Throughout the day, pupils discussed the importance of kindness, tolerance, respect and understanding, considering how these values influence the way we treat one another both in school and beyond. Through creative activities and thoughtful discussions, children developed a deeper understanding of why these values matter and how they contribute to a positive and inclusive community.
Working collaboratively within their key stages, pupils generated their own performance poems inspired by the themes explored during the workshops. The day culminated in a whole-school assembly, where each group proudly showcased their work, demonstrating creativity, confidence and a strong understanding of British values.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Sile for her support in planning and facilitating these inspiring sessions. Her enthusiasm and expertise helped make the day a memorable and meaningful experience for all of our children.
We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork and thoughtful reflections shown by everyone involved. It was wonderful to see our pupils using poetry as a powerful way to celebrate the values that make our school such a welcoming and supportive place to learn.
