We have ditched our desks today and turned ordering decimals into a fast-paced game! Everyone rolled a place value due to build a number with three decimal places, creating values like 0.438. We had limited time to line up in either ascending or descending order, switching the direction every single round.
The children had to talk to each other, compare their tenths, hundredths and thousandths, and physically line themselves up in order before time ran out.
We were brilliantly competitive and thoroughly enjoyed the game!
