Year 6 had a fantastic day today visiting Cannon Hall Museum for a World War II workshop! The children fully got into the spirit of the day, many dressing up and really acting the part.
Throughout the visit they took part in four different workshops. They tried their hand at wartime baking by making carrot cookies, explored the idea of “Make Do and Mend” while creating rag rugs, learned about toys children would have played with during the war, and discovered how rationing and propaganda posters were used to influence people.
It was a brilliant hands-on experience that really brought our WWII learning to life. The children were engaged, enthusiastic and represented school wonderfully. A fantastic day all round!
