We have been getting creative with our new class book ‘The Giant’s Necklace’ by Michael Morpurgo. Having just begun the story, we explored the first chapter through role play and drama.
Working in small groups, children transformed into the new characters we have met so far: Cherry, Mum and her four brothers. They performed a short extract from the opening chapter, thinking carefully about how each character might be feeling and thinking and explored this through body language, tone of voice and facial expressions.
Y6 really brought their characters to life! We’re looking forward to seeing where the story takes us next!
