Year 5 pupils became young geographers this week as they used atlases, maps, and research skills to investigate natural disasters in and around Europe.
Working in groups, the children located and mapped a range of natural disasters including earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, and wildfires. They carefully studied where these events occur and began identifying patterns and making thoughtful observations about why certain areas may be more at risk than others.
The activity encouraged pupils to develop their map-reading, research, and analytical skills while deepening their understanding of the physical geography of Europe. The children showed excellent teamwork and curiosity as they discussed their findings and shared ideas with one another.
