Y5 have begun their collaborative artwork inspired by Peter Thorpe

Our Year 5 children have been busy creating a fantastic series of collaborative canvas artworks inspired by the exciting space-themed paintings of artist Peter Thorpe.

Using acrylic paints, the children explored a range of painting techniques to bring their ideas to life. They experimented with wet-on-wet painting to blend colours smoothly, used dry brush techniques to add texture and detail, and applied paint with sponges to create interesting effects and backgrounds.

Working together in teams, the children designed and painted vibrant canvases full of imagination, colour and creativity. They carefully discussed ideas, shared resources and supported one another throughout the project, demonstrating excellent teamwork as well as artistic skills.

The finished pieces are a wonderful celebration of collaboration and creativity, with each canvas showcasing bold colours, exciting textures and the children’s growing confidence as young artists. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the stunning artwork they have produced.
