In Literacy, Chestnuts have been learning about Chris Hadfield. We have enjoyed reading his inspiring life story, The Darkest Dark, and discovering how he followed his dream of becoming an astronaut. Using Talk for Writing, we explored rhyming words and worked together to create a rhyming poem all about Chris Hadfield’s life and achievements. We thought carefully about our word choices to make our poem interesting and fun to listen to. To make our learning even more exciting, we recorded our finished poem in our class space station, helping us feel like real astronauts sharing our work from space.
