What a lovely morning we had at our Shake, Rattle and Rhyme Stay and Play! We were delighted to welcome our parents and carers into Early Years to share a morning full of nursery rhymes, music and creativity.
Together, we created our very own nursery rhyme song boxes, filled with props and resources to bring our favourite rhymes to life. The children were excited to make something special to take home and enjoy practising their favourite songs with their grown-ups.
Did you know that nursery rhymes are a vital part of early numeracy? Through singing and repeating familiar rhymes, children develop their understanding of numbers, counting, patterns and sequencing. Rhymes such as Five Little Ducks and Ten in the Bed help children explore counting forwards and backwards, while the rhythm and repetition support their mathematical language and memory.
Most importantly, nursery rhymes are a wonderful way to learn through play, build confidence and share special moments together.
A huge thank you to all our parents and carers for joining us. We hope you enjoy singing, shaking and rattling your song boxes at home! ❤️
