In this lesson, we made minibeasts out of clay using lots of different skills and techniques. First, we rolled the clay to make it smooth and the right thickness. Then we shaped it into different insects and minibeasts. We used clay tools to add patterns and textures, such as lines, dots, and marks, to make our creations look more realistic and interesting.

We also used our maths skills to count the legs carefully and make sure our insects had the correct number. In science, we learnt that insects always have six legs, so we checked our models to make sure they were accurate. This helped us use both our science knowledge and maths skills while being creative.

Everyone enjoyed experimenting with the clay and using their imagination to design unique minibeasts. The activity also helped us practise our fine motor skills while shaping and joining the clay together. By the end of the lesson, we had created lots of colourful and detailed minibeasts and were proud of what we had made.
