This week, Chestnuts have been busy exploring length and height in our numeracy learning!
We started by learning the vocabulary ‘long’ and ‘short’. We made our very own shaving foam worms and then had lots of fun splatting them with our hands! As our classroom turned into a shaving foam shower, we shouted out whether our worms were long or short. It was messy, exciting and lots of fun!
To consolidate our learning, we headed outside for a long and short stick challenge. The children searched carefully to find one stick that was long and one that was short, using our new mathematical vocabulary to describe what they had found.
What a fun and messy way to learn about length! 🌟📏
