Year 6 have been exploring the work of Charles Darwin and learning about adaptation and evolution through the fascinating story of the peppered moth.
To begin, we used charcoal to create bark prints from the trees around our school grounds, carefully observing the textures and patterns found in nature. We then used ink to design and paint our own 3D peppered moths, thinking about how their colouring helped them survive in different environments.
The finished pieces look fantastic! The combination of natural charcoal prints and detailed ink work has created some truly beautiful outcomes. We are so proud of the creativity and effort shown by all of Year 6.
