🎢 Class 5’s £10,000 Theme Park Challenge!

Yesterday, Class 5 stepped into the shoes of Theme Park Managers to bring our 4-digit column subtraction learning to life through an exciting, real-world project! Starting with a £10,000 budget, each child designed their own park map on squared paper, choosing from a selection of rides, food courts, and facilities. To keep their park running, they had to prioritize essential purchases like toilets, food stalls, and rides. They then used formal 4-digit column subtraction to deduct costs and track their remaining budget after every item. It was a fantastic way to deepen their written maths skills through hands-on decision-making, and the children showed incredible enthusiasm and determination throughout the lesson!
