As part of our learning about the victorians, we have been learning about two very different artists of the past – William Morris and Laurence Stephen Lowry.
The children have been analysing a range of Morris’ tapestries and wallpaper patterns. We learnt that many of them had nature themes and that he enjoyed creating dyes of natural colours such as brown, blue and brown.
In our art lessons, we have created our own sketches and begun to prepare our own art work in the style of William Morris, using a water colour wash. Take a look at some of the creative designs so far…
