Baking our very own WW2 Woolton Pie in Y6!

As part of our DT learning, we have put our research into practice and baked our own Woolton pies. Today, we were able to taste them and we loved it! Following our tasting, we completed an evaluation of what we enjoyed the most and what we would change (such as vegetables included) if we were to make it again.

We have learnt how to cut vegetables appropriately, such as using the methods: bridge hold and claw grip.

The children were extremely reflective on how people who lived in the WW2 era had to grow their own vegetables in their victory gardens and how this recipe enabled families to be fed to avoid strict rationing restrictions.

Well done Year 6!
