Online safety is at the heart of our computing curriculum and children learn the skills they need to stay safe online through every aspect of ICT in school. Keeping children safe online is a partnership and we encourage parents to be actively involved.

Keeping Your Child Safe Online
E-Safety is a key part of the new computing curriculum and is being delivered throughout school. However, in order for us to effectively educate children on the dangers of being online and how to keep themselves safe it is important that we work in partnership with parents and carers.
The advances in technology and the surge in social media often means children now have a digital profile before they are even born. Therefore it is our job to work together to educate children on how to keep safe whilst benefiting from being online.
There are a number of useful websites which can help to educate parents and carers on how to keep their children safe, including advice on security and privacy settings on devices in the home.
Childnet provide interactive advice for parents and carers, covering a wide range of issues to allow parents to support their children to use the internet safely and responsibly.
SaferInternet.org gives parents and carers the knowledge needed to protect children online from unsuitable content and communication, by providing safety tools on security and privacy settings for web browsers and social media accounts. However it is important to note that most social media accounts including Facebook and Instagram require the user to be 13 before opening an account.
Internetmatters.org is a useful website which has developed checklists for parents to help them keep children safe depending on the age of your child.
