Year 6 have been celebrating Black History Month through a thoughtful and engaging PSHE lesson. They began with research carousels, exploring the lives of inspirational figures such as Barack Obama, Katherine Johnson, Ruby Bridges, Martin Luther King Jr., Maya Angelou, and Rosa Parks. These activities sparked brilliant discussions about who these influential people were and how their courage, determination, and achievements have shaped the society we live in today.
To finish, the children created their own ‘Hero Profiles’, celebrating the incredible impact of these trailblazers and reflecting on what it truly means to make a positive difference in the world.
