This term, our talented Year 5 pupils have been exploring the exciting world of abstract space art, taking inspiration from renowned artist Peter Thorpe. Known for his bold colours and imaginative designs, Thorpe’s work sparked creativity across the year group as the children embarked on a collaborative art project.
Using a vibrant mix of acrylic paint, watercolours, and oil pastels, the children worked on individual canvases that came together to form one striking final piece. They experimented with mixed textures, incorporating glitter and textiles to add depth and dimension to their work.
The project not only allowed the children to develop their artistic skills but also provided a fantastic opportunity to express their learning and ideas through a shared creative process. The final artwork is a true celebration of teamwork, imagination, and the power of artistic inspiration.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work and can’t wait for you to see their masterpiece on display!
