Year 3 Visit The Men and Women of Steel – via tram!

Today, the children year three visited Meadowhall as part of their learning in history around our class text, ‘Meet me by the Steelmen’.

After that, we travelled by tram from Meadowhall to Sheffield and visited many of the landmarks in Sheffield, including exploring art work around city such as murals and art work created by an artist the children have been studying – Pete McKee. We even saw Megan Russell’s (also known as ‘Peachzz’) mural at a huge 25 metres high, which is the tallest piece of street art in Sheffield.

Other locations we visited included the town hall, the Winter Gardens, and the Sheffield Crucible. Whilst we were there, we also observed the women of steel busy at work..

Take a look at our amazing day…
