Y6 Art & Science – 3D Peppered Moths

We have been exploring the work of scientist Charles Darwin by creatively combining art and science in our learning. As part of a study on natural selection, we have investigated the example of the peppered moth and how its colouring helped it survive. Using charcoal and tree bark, we created textured backgrounds that represented the natural environment where the moths lived. We then used ink to carefully draw moths, creating a beautiful piece of 3D art.
