Today both Year 5 and Year 6 had a fantastic afternoon exploring the protected characteristics that make up an individuals identify. Children learnt that there were 9 characteristics which no one should be discriminated against.
Children learnt the important lesson of always asking questions to become more knowledgeable instead of prejudging or stereotyping an individual.
Together they worked in groups to design their own caricature/avatar that symbolises the protected characteristic.
Very deep learning took place whilst also reinforcing one of our important learning skills: collaboration.
