Year 6 have been diving into the incredible role women played in WW2 💪✨ From codebreakers to factory workers, we explored how these jobs didn’t just support the war effort – they helped shape careers we still have today.
We also had some really thoughtful discussions about inequality in women’s pay and linked it to the Equality Act, thinking about how far we’ve come (and what still needs to change).
Taking our learning outside, we worked in groups to research different roles, before designing our own commemorative coins to honour these inspiring women. The conversations around why these women deserved recognition were amazing – such a brilliant mix of creativity, history and important thinking 👏
