This week in the LEAF, we have had so much fun exploring our class text, Simon Sock. Simon is a sock that just wants to belong as a pair and be the same as someone else. However, we discovered that sometimes it’s perfectly OK to not match someone else, and that we are all different and that’s okay!
During our Attention Autism sessions, we carefully observed what happens when our emotions bubble up and explode by watching a exploding science experiment! In our ELSA, we had a go at naming some of those big emotions, helping us understand ourselves better and looking at different ways we can deal with those big feelings!
We’ve also been really busy with our STEM project! We have designed our very own Simon sock and, following instructions, created our own sock puppets. We then used these puppets to retell the delightful story of Simon Sock.
