Our Visit to Sheffield Using Public Transport!

Class 4 and 5 have visited Sheffield during the last two days on the tram-train. The children gained valuable life-experience and life-skills using public transport and reading timetables of arrivals and departures – they caught a bus from school to Rotherham, and then caught the tram-train to Sheffield today.

Once in Sheffield, the children visited lots of landmarks including the Sheffield Cathedral, the Women of Steel, the Winter Gardens, Sheffield Town Hall, Millenium Gallery museum, looked at the famous art mural by ‘Peachzz’, observed outdoor art by Pete McKee and finished the day with lunch in the Peace Gardens.

As part of our topic all about Sheffield steel, we travelled into Sheffield (just as Ethel and Leila did – two character from our class text).

Thank you to all adults supporting today’s trip.

Take a look at today’s memories…
