Matching and Manipulating in Numeracy

In numeracy today, Chestnuts were set a Numicon challenge! Miss Whittington made a jigsaw puzzle out of different Numicon tiles and the children were tasked with matching the images to the concrete apparatus. Some of the matching was difficult because we had to manipulate the pieces to make sure the pieces matched perfectly. We rotated them to ensure the perfect match!

Some children enjoyed the lesson so much that in their independent choosing time, they flocked to the numeracy table to continue the matching. All of the grownups were so thrilled with how eager and proud the children were when they asked us to come over to look at their incredible work.

Well done Chestnuts, you are amazing mathematicians! ➖➕➗🟰
