Children investigated which materials were soluble (dissolves in water to make a solution) and which were insoluble (does not dissolve in water and stays as a separate material). Some materials such as clay and flour sank straight to the bottom of the water. Some materials such as oil sat on top of the water.
Once we generated our results, and then checked them against our original predictions, we came up with a follow up question: Does the temperature of the water change our results?
