During last weeks design and technology lesson, Class 4 children learnt to design and create a healthy sandwich inspired by the steel workers in the class text – Meet Me By The Steelmen.
During today’s lesson, children learnt the skills of important food-preparation skills such as knife safety, hygiene (like tying hair back, washing hands and swapping knives), choosing and assembling ingredients, chopping and snipping lettuce and using the correct spreading and slicing techniques.
The children then evaluated their finished sandwiches by discussing their favourite and least favourite fillings, and described tastes, appearance and textures.
