In our classroom, we have been exploring colour recognition and patterns as part of our maths learning. To bring this learning to life, the children took part in a fun and creative art activity where they painted their hands to create a colourful dragon.
The dragons were carefully cut out and attached to sticks, turning them into our very own dragon props. The children were so proud of their creations!
Today, we used our dragons for an exciting Chinese dragon dance experience. With traditional Chinese music playing, the children moved their dragons in time with the music and explored different movements as they took part in traditional-style dancing. There was lots of laughter, energy, and enthusiasm as we celebrated together.
It was a wonderful way to combine maths, art, music, movement, and cultural learning, and most importantly, the children had so much fun while learning and celebrating.
