This week in the ICT suite, Year 5 took their coding skills to the next level by combining computing and creativity. Using the program Scratch, the children explored how algorithms and sequences can be used to compose their very own music pieces.
Pupils experimented with a wide variety of instrument sounds, layering different tracks to build rhythm, melody, and harmony. Many even went a step further by recording and inputting their own audio, adding a personal touch to their compositions.
Through this project, the children developed their understanding of coding, problem-solving, and digital music creation, all while having lots of fun! Their finished pieces sound fantastic, and we’re incredibly proud of the confidence and independence they showed throughout the lesson.
