This week, our young designers proudly completed a stunning textile art project inspired by the night sky!
Pupils began by dyeing their own fabric, exploring colour blending and creating beautiful galaxy-like backgrounds. Once their cloth had dried, they learned and practised a range of hand-stitching techniques, including running stitch and back stitch, to bring their designs to life.
Using careful needlework, the children added sequins to represent stars, arranging them to form a variety of well-known constellations. Each finished piece captures the sparkle and mystery of the galaxy, and the children should be incredibly proud of the skill and creativity they demonstrated throughout the project.
