As part of our learning in RE, we were delighted to welcome Reverend Middleton into school this week. She shared a well-known Christian story from the Old Testament—the story of Jacob.
The children listened carefully as they learnt about Jacob’s journey, his dream of a ladder reaching up to heaven, and the important lessons Christians take from this story.
From Jacob’s experiences, the children explored key messages such as:
🌟 God is always with us, even when we feel alone
🌟 People can change—Jacob learns to make better choices
🌟 Forgiveness and courage matter, especially when making things right
🌟 God keeps His promises, just as He did with Jacob
After hearing the story, the children had the chance to get creative! They made their very own Jacob’s ladder using card and enjoyed playing a fun game based on the ladder too. The classroom was filled with excitement, imagination and thoughtful discussion.
A huge thank you to Reverend Middleton for bringing this story to life and helping us understand its meaning in such an engaging way.
