This morning we hosted our first multiply session of the year. Parents were invited into school to learn about how we teach addition and subtraction in year one and two. We looked at how we move from concrete objects to pictorial and then to abstract.

Children were then invited to work with their grown ups to create an animal habitat. They had to add the value of the materials they used and work out the total cost.

Together they enjoyed using maths in a create way. Thank you to all the grown ups for attending.
