Year 1 had a fantastic morning taking part in a teddy bear’s picnic. We set out onto the school field covered in suncream for a morning of outdoor activities that we can later write about in our literacy work. We created some lovely woodland images using natural objects first and spoke about the materials we used and why. We then used our grammar skills to describe our images using ambitious adjectives such as ‘magical’ and ‘enchanted’. We also had fun exploring and using our team working skills in the woodland areas around school searching for images of teddy bears, once we’d found them we had to add together how many each person found to find out the groups overall total, the winning group found a whopping 15 bears in the 10 minute time frame! A fantastic team building morning was enjoyed by all and our teachers cannot wait to read our recounts all about it!
