Heart dissection in Year 6!

What a fantastic morning the children in year 6 have had!

Following on from all the fantastic learning the children have done so far learning about the heart. Mr Hood organised an in person dissection of a lamb’s heart. The reason for dissecting a lamb’s heart is because it is mammalian which is perfect as it is the closest you can get to a human heart.

Year 6 were able to see the four heart chambers and the vessels going into and out of the heart. It was a memorable science lesson with all the children learning and experiencing something new.

Mr Williams was even brave enough to explore and hold a lamb’s heart for the first time.

Well done Year 6!
