Virtual Artist Visit – Bob Barker

What a fantastic experience the children at Roughwood have encountered this afternoon! We have been lucky enough to virtually meet artist Bob Barker, learn about his life and even watch him create an outstanding piece of art, live on Zoom!

This exclusive painting, question and answer session and workshop inspired us at Roughwood as we created our own versions of how light can be depicted with charcoal.

Bob Barker is a fantastic Yorkshire artist, known for his ‘Northern Impressionism’ style. Depicting touching childhood, family and romantic scenes, his nostalgic artwork feature a neutral palette of greys and browns with unique glows created by the manipulation of light and shadow.

Take a look at some of the amazing learning from this afternoon!
