During todays visit to Manor Lodge linked to our learning about the Tudor, we have explored the ruins of a previous grand manor house.
Throughout the day, the children have found out how the Tudor aristocracy and their servants led their daily lives.
The children have learnt about key figures from history including Mary (Queen of Scots), George Talbot, and Bess of Hardwick and learnt about how to dine at a Tudor banquet,
The children have learnt about how Mary spent her time in captivity, spent time in the herb garden learning about apothecary (making our own Tussy Mussy bags) and investigated Tudor clothing.
To finish the day, the children analysed natural remedies from the Tudor Era – who would have thought that you could have cured asthma by eating pigeon droppings…
