P4C in Y6 – World War 2

This afternoon, the children in Class 8 participated in a P4C discussion about WW2.

First, we explored some pictures of evacuees and recorded our first thoughts down on a post-it note.

The direction of our discussion led us to thinking about whether any of the causes of the outbreak of war could have been different to prevent evacuation from ever happening.

Then, we voted for our class question which we ensured promoted deeper thinking: “What if Germany hadn’t started WW1? Would the war have happened?”

A fantastic discussion held by Year 6 with great thinking and oracy skills. Well done!
