Identifying Geographical Features in Year 5 Using Satellite Images

Within our geography lessons, the children have learnt all about human and physical geographical features.

Using a range of satellite images, the children were able to sort, identify, discuss, describe and understand key aspects of physical geography, including change of climate, biomes, vegetation, rivers, mountains, volcanoes and land uses for agricultural purposes.

Take a look at some of the satellite images. Could you identify a coastline? What about a snow capped mountain from a satellite photo?
