At the end of a busy week, Year 5 apply their learning within a variety of maths investigations that include multiples, factors, prime numbers and square numbers.
The children have worked in pairs and used their resilience to sort and reason with their mathematical thinking to ensure they have used as many numbers as possible from a hundreds square.
You might be thinking – what are prime numbers? In the words of Jed in Year 5 at Roughwood Primary School. ‘Prime numbers are numbers that can only be divided by themselves and 1. For example, 7 is a prime number. That’s because it is only divisible by 1 and 7. 8’.
