Y3S have been looking at some new vocabulary during our science learning on light and shadows.
We began by working in groups to choose 4 items from the classroom. We then had to describe its appearance using specific adjectives such as: shiny, smooth, light, dull, course, flexible and bright . We then gave them a score out of 5 for “shiny/reflective” factor. From this we discovered that the more reflective objects were shiny due to the light counting off the objects and were also often light in colour.
The children then went on to explore some different transparent, translucent and opaque objects so that we can collect some data from this next lesson.
Super team work skills and Miss Sare particularly enjoyed your use of sentence stems and scientific vocabulary during discussions today!
