The Widow’s Mite – R.E in Year 6

During our R.E session, Year 6 learnt about the core values of Christianity and fully immersed themselves into the story of the Widow’s Mite.

The Widow’s Mite is a traditional story which describes a widow who gives two small copper coins to the temple treasury. Jesus witnesses this offering and describes how great her gift is because it represents a greater proportion of her wealth than the larger gifts of other religious leaders.

The story enabled our Y6’s to be extremely reflective and consider the moral of the story, that sometimes “giving all you can is better than giving a little.” This was shown within the effort in their learning. Well done Year 6!
