Celebrating Summer Solstice in Bushcraft Club

To celebrate the start of Summer and the Summer Solstice, we decided to create our very own summer picnic by crafting our own Elderflower Cordial (sourced from an Elder tree on school grounds) and made egg and cress sandwiches with cress we sowed last week.

As part of these tasks, children worked as part of a team and delegated tasks equally amongst themselves. We also carried out an experiment to see if cress grew better in soil or cotton wool; with wool slightly outperforming soil!
