Wattle & Daub Construction in DT

In Year 3 & 4, we’ve been learning about how houses were built in the Bronze Age, using wattle & daub (woven wood daubed with a mixture of clay, mud and animal dung!) …

… so we decided to recreate this method for our DT project!

For the next stage of our Bronze Age roundhouse models, we used weaving for the ‘wattle’ and added brown paint to our clay to represent the ‘daub’.

Take a look at our amazing projects so far …

Well done everyone!

Next, we need a roof! What materials could we use for the roof?
