Using ‘Hot-seating’ to explore thoughts and feelings in Class 8

During our Literacy session today, we used ‘hot-seating’ as a drama technique to explore thoughts and feelings of characters in our new class book ‘Treason’.

At the beginning of the book, we discovered that the main character William tragically loses his brother in a fatal accident at sea. We wanted to empathise with William and, through hot-seating, were able to deepen our understanding of the character.

We worked as groups to propose questions to William and all did fantastically well at showing their communication and listening skills.

Kornelija did a fantastic job at acting ‘in role’ as William, spontaneously answering questions and offering an insight into what his life during Tudor times might have been like. Well done to all!
